Guidelines and Policies for Streamers
Stream sniping refers to the practice of observing another player's live stream and utilizing that information to secure an unfair edge in gameplay. This may involve tracking the streamer to ambush them, appropriating their resources or loot, or gaining insights into their strategies and plans.
Additionally, deliberately identifying content creators in the game who are not using their real names or personal information will also be subject to this rule and may lead to moderation. It is important to engage in the game respectfully, allowing others to enjoy their experience without interference.
Stream sniping is regarded as a form of cheating, as it provides players with an unfair advantage over those who are not streaming live. This behavior can also be disruptive and frustrating for the streamer, who may feel that their gameplay is being undermined. Consequently, we have established rules against stream sniping, and players found participating in such actions may face moderation consequences.
Reports are evaluated individually, placing the responsibility of proof on the streamer. It is essential for the streamer to implement all recognized standard measures to safeguard their stream, which include, but are not limited to: enabling streamer mode, utilizing map overlays, disabling chat, and avoiding easily identifiable Steam names.
As a matter of policy, Royal Family Gaming staff will not monitor streams or spectate individuals suspected of misconduct to gather evidence for the broadcaster. The decision to take moderation actions, or refrain from doing so, is entirely at the discretion of the administrator assessing the report.
Not having fundamental protective measures in place on a stream may result in the report being closed.
Additional factors to consider include ensuring that regular teammates (those you frequently play with) also have protective measures in place while streaming, and avoiding the use of a static Steam name.
Moreover, if you are consistently playing on the same server for an extended duration (such as a monthly server throughout the entire wipe) or repeatedly on the same server each wipe, we may choose to temporarily suspend creator protections at our discretion.
